Parkview Hospital Chooses Bremner-Duke to Build New Ambulatory Services Building in Fort Wayne
Released: 8/17/2006
Indianapolis, Indiana, August 17, 2006 – Parkview Hospital, a regional not-for-profit health system serving northeast Indiana and western Ohio, has tapped Bremner-Duke to develop a 3-story, 105,380 square foot medical office and ambulatory services building.
The state-of-the-art facility will be contiguous to the existing hospital building of the Parkview North campus in Fort Wayne.
“We are delighted to have this opportunity to help Parkview continue ‘raising the bar’ in healthcare for Northeast Indiana,” said Jim Bremner, Bremner Healthcare’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
The building will sit on approximately 6 acres at 11411 Parkview Plaza Drive. Bremner-Duke will utilize steel construction with a combination of brick, flagstone, pre-cast and windows for the exterior. Plans for the interior lobby include marble or granite flooring and wood accent paneling.
This state-of-the-art facility will provide space for a variety of uses, including physician office space, a registration area, pre-admissions testing, diagnostic imaging, a blood draw lab, radiation oncology, medical oncology, an ambulatory services center and cytogenetics. “The new Parkview North Outpatient Services & Comprehensive Cancer Center is an important addition to our north campus and Bremner-Duke has been an excellent partner in this project,” said Dan Garman, Parkview Health senior VP. “We are excited that the building will have surgical and diagnostic areas, plus room for physician offices, but it will house the majority of comprehensive outpatient cancer services in one place. It will be more convenient not only for the patients, who previously had to travel to multiple locations, but also for the physicians. Bremner-Duke has worked closely with our staff and physicians to formulate a design that takes into account our goals for providing a new standard of care in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The result will be a high quality, cost effective structure that will make a difference in outpatient care.”
Bremner-Duke is a joint venture between Bremner Healthcare, a national developer and manager of healthcare facilities and Duke Realty Corporation, the nation’s largest publicly-traded mixed-use commercial real estate company. The two companies formed a partnership in 2004 to combine and complement expertise to benefit clients.
In the past year, the Bremner-Duke partnership began 8 healthcare related projects totaling more than $100 million in new development across the country.
