SJRMC medical building adds large tenant

Plastic surgery practice leases 10,500 square feet on first floor of newly opened, LEED-certified outpatient facility at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka, Ind.
MISHAWAKA, Ind., Feb. 10, 2010 – A multi-faceted plastic surgery practice has leased 10,500 square feet in the recently opened medical office building (MOB) attached to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center (SJRMC) in Mishawaka. The Centre, P.C., which provides services in reconstructive and cosmetic plastic surgery, rehabilitation, and skin care, will occupy space on the first floor.
Developed and owned by Indianapolis-based BremnerDuke, the four-story, 205,000 square foot MOB is connected to the new 254-bed Saint Joseph hospital on all four levels. The MOB is the first Indiana building of any type to earn LEED® Gold for Core & Shell (CS) certification.
The Centre, P.C., which also has locations in Elkhart and Chesterton, Ind., opened a plastic surgery practice in the South Bend area in September. The practice occupied temporary space pending completion of the new MOB, which opened Dec. 14 on the 90-acre SJRMC campus.
“We’re excited to bring patients in South Bend the convenience of a comprehensive plastic surgery practice where they can get professional treatment options,” said Dr. Ronald K. Downs, who founded The Centre, P.C. in Elkhart in 1992.

The new SJRMC MOB is located at 611 E. Douglas Rd. in Mishawaka, just south of the Indiana East-West Toll Road (Interstate Highways 80 and 90). CSO Architects Inc. and Duke Construction designed and built the LEED-certified facility for BremnerDuke.
